Deliveries & Returns

When will my order be shipped?

We aim to dispatch your order within 1-3 days after receiving your order. Finnish and EU orders placed by 12PM are usually shipped the same day. Orders outside the EU placed by 10AM (CET) are usually shipped the same day. However, during busy times it might take up to 3 working days to process your order.

How long does the delivery take?

Shipping time depends on your location and the chosen delivery method. The delivery times given for different methods are estimated given by the carriers, and your order is usually delivered within the given shipping time estimate from the day you receive your order confirmation. However, the shipping times are estimates only, and sometimes delays may occur. We are not responsible for any delays once your order has been picked up from our warehouse by the carries.

Can I return an item?

Of course. We offer a 30 day return period, starting from the day you receive your order.

How do I return or exchange an item?

You will find the return form and return instructions in the envelope inside your package. Unfortunately, we don’t offer exchange possibility at the moment only returns.

You will find a return form in the envelope inside your package. Fill out the form, put it inside the package with the items you wish to return, and place the return-shipping label (for packages shipped by Postnord/DHL/UPS) on the box over the prior delivery information.

Drop off the package at your nearest PostNord pick up point (in Finland) or DHL/UPS pick-up point, or schedule a pick up with the DHL/UPS driver.

Our return address is:

Makia Clothing Oy / WEBSTORE RETURN
c/o PostNord Oy
Ovakonkatu 1
20200 TURKU
FINLAND

Make sure you are sending your return to the above address, not to the address written in the RePack address flap. We are unable to process your return if it is sent to the wrong address.

Is returning free?

Yes, returning is free.

How long until I receive my refund?

It might take up to two weeks for your return to reach us. Once your return is processed at our warehouse, we will contact you to notify about the received return. Please allow a few bank days after this for the refund to show on your account.

RePack

What is RePack?

RePack is a reusable packaging solution and service designed for webstores. RePacks are made from recycled plastic, and are more durable than regular plastic bags, and therefore they can be used multiple times. This will decrease the amount of packaging trash.

What do I do with the RePack?

RePacks are meant to be used multiple times. Next step for you is very easy and simple. Just fold the RePack to letter size, make the return flap visible and simply drop your empty RePack into a letterbox and return it to us. Once returned RePack will check it, clean it and send your returnable bag back to the webstores to be reused. This way we reduce the need for single-use packaging.

Can I return the products I ordered in RePack?

Yes you can and we encourage you to do so! Just follow to return instructions on the return form. You can find your return form in the envelope packed inside your package. However, please note that when returning a product, you need to use the return address written on the return form, not the address on the address flap attached to RePack. The address flap attached to RePack is meant for empty RePacks only, as they go to a different warehouse. We are unable to process your return if it is sent to the wrong warehouse.

Products & Materials

How do I find my size?

Just click on the size guide link on the product page, or contact us at store@makiaclothing.com if you need further assistance. We hope we can help you find the right size at first try, to lessen the ecological impact of the returns freight.

Where are your products manufactured?

We produce most our items in Turkey (t-shirts, sweatshirts, shirts, dresses, trousers etc), jackets are manufactured in China, shoes in Portugal and knitwear in Bulgaria and Finland. We choose the manufactures based on their ability to produce high quality in commercial quantities, and based on their geographical location in relation to rest of the supply chain, such as fabric factories and suppliers.

How should I take care of my Makia products?

Excellent question. We have created a garment care guide, you can find it here.

Sustainability

Is you merino wool mulesing free?

The entire process from wool to knit is a global and very complex one. The wools are collected from different farms and then added to bigger lots (different qualities) thru various processes, that are taking place in different countries. So the traceability from ready-made-product back to the farm is almost impossible to manage. At least when operating in commercial volumes and qualities. Merino wool that Makia uses is bought from well known, high quality Italian spinning mills and then the final products are done either in Bulgaria (knits) or in Finland (accessories).

Do you use any recycled materials?

Yes we do. We aim to use recycled materials whenever possible, such as recycled polyester or recycled wool. We also work with PureWaste who creates new fabrics from manufacturing leftover fabrics.

What kind of packaging do you use to for webstore deliveries?

We use reusable and returnable packaging called RePack, created from recycled plastic.

What other environmental initiatives do you have?

We work with UPS on carbon neutral deliveries. Through their UPS Carbon Neutral program we counter balance our carbon dioxide emissions generated by the transport of our packages through carbon offsetting. This means that for every tonne of CO2 a package produces in transportation, an equivalent amount of CO2 is saved by a verified emission reduction project somewhere else in the world. All our UPS deliveries are now by default carbon neutral.

In addition, we are currently testing biodegradable polymeric packaging, in which all of our garments will be packed in once they leave the factory. We are hoping of introducing these compostable bags to our logistics chain by 2020.
